Thomas Gentile 1886 - 1960

Tommaso Gentile was born on December 21, 1886 in Caserta, Campania Italy to Joseph Gentile and Bruna Gentile, and had a sister Maria Lupola. He married Mary Gentile in 1911, and had children Bruna Guarnieri, Frank Gentile, John Gentile, Rocco Gentile, Salvatore Gentile, Carmela Alberti, Thomas Gentile Jr., Ann Fenezia, and Eleanor Sarosy. Tommaso Gentile died at age 74 years old on December 31, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York United States, and was buried circa January 3, 1961 at Holy Cross Cemetery 3620 Tilden Ave, in Brooklyn, Kings County.

In 1886, in the year that Thomas Gentile was born, on January 5th, Scottish novelist Robert Louis Stevenson's book the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was published. Immediately popular, the paperback book was sold for $1 in the U.S. - almost $25 today. Stevenson's stepson said that he wrote the first draft in under 3 days.
