Thomas J Batten on August 15, 2004, at age 84. Longtime resident of Drexel Hill. Beloved husband of almost 60 years to Helen T (nee Chinery). Wonderful father to Therese Hauer (preceded in death), Mary Stutzman, Barbara McDermott, Thomas J Batten Jr., John Batten, Bernadette McLoughlin, Harry Batten, Joseph Batten, Helene Reitman, and Robert Batten. Loving grandfather of 34 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Friend and mentor to so many more. World War II Veteran. Longtime active member of St. Charles Borromeo Church of Drexel Hill and member of St. Ambrose Mens Guild. Among the many wonderful things he did in his life, he enabled others to pray by making thousands of Chaplets for churches and missions around the world. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004 at the SS. Philip & Charles Church, Rt. 30 & Ship Road, Exton, Pa. Viewing 9-11 a.m. at the church. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mercy Health Hospice, 1500 Lansdowne Ave., Darby, Pa. 19023. Arr.
