He played football with the 24th Infantry Division Team of the All Japan League and coached the second and third string.

Thomas Peters married Sally R Gallagher in September of 1951 in Trenton New Jersey and they had two daughters and two sons. He was survived by three grandchildren. Thomas belonged to the Mount Carmel Guild, Trenton Catholic Alumni Association and Prudential Retired Men's Group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf.
