Thomas Francis Loftus was born in Philadelphia to Patrick Francis J. Loftus (1872-1939) and Catherine Katie Cannon Loftus (1876-1957), and had siblings Mary J. Canavan (1902-1949), Veronica P. Gallagher (1903-1988), Joseph Patrick (1905-1971), Charles Aloyisus (1907-1985), James Patrick (1909-1967), Eleanor Mary (1910-2000), Francis Brendan (1911-1987), and John Loftus (1917-1919). He was a World War 2 veteran and married Hope I (Shallow) Loftus on October 9th 1937 in North Stratford New Hampshire.
