Thomas Robert Sharrow of Colac, Colac Otway Shire County, VIC Australia was born in 1913 in Colac to Jessie Grace (Lidgerwood) Sharrow and Thomas Whitfield Sharrow. He had siblings Margaret Elizabeth Ellen Sharrow, Annie Blanche Sharrow, Ellen Jessie Sharrow, and Grace France Sharrow. Thomas Sharrow married Olga May Hibbert in 1942, and died at age 60 years old on March 8, 1974 in Colac.

In 1913, in the year that Thomas Robert Sharrow was born, Henry Ford installed the first moving assembly line for the mass production of an entire automobile. It had previously taken 12 hours to assemble a whole vehicle - now it took only two hours and 30 minutes! Inspired by the production lines at flour mills, breweries, canneries and industrial bakeries, along with the disassembly of animal carcasses in Chicago’s meat-packing plants, Ford created moving belts for parts and the assembly line was born.
