Leda's story is a little bit complicated, but I can tell it to you, as I am her granddaughter, and was raised in her household since the age of 4.
She was born a Winebrenner, but her parent's were both killed when she was very young. Upon their deaths, Leda was adopted by the Monroe's, (who her daughters believe she said were her aunt and uncle). She was then raised by the Monroe's.
She married George Harold Levering, (her lifelong spouse), and she bore him two daughters, Tommie Jo Levering, and Laurita Sue Levering.
I lived with and cared for my grandma, Leda, from age 4 until she passed away from congestive heart failure in 1985, and I stayed and cooked and cleaned for my grandpa until he died from emphysema in 1987.
