TRAVIS CHANEY
My father was a jack of all trades. He grew up in a small east texas town called Center.he never knew his real father and his fathers mysterious departure from the family was never spoken of it was depression era and I had heard his father just couldn't do good enough and hit the roads back to his home state of Louisiana. Travis was raised by a stepfather LD Smith who was tough as nails.Teavis inlisted in the United States Marine Corp sometime in the early 1950s.became a fighter pilot and was an officer prior to military Yravis attended Sam Houston state university studied various subjects with a major in agriculture. While in the service he met Angelan Tucker also in the Marine corp.They married and moved to Center.Texas in the late 50s while there they ran a small Dairy farm for a few years until the birth of their first daughter th hey decided to move to Houston for more opportunities Travis taught special education at Sam Houston School in Hpuston.and after two years went to work for Allied Mills an farm feed company as a father he was the best a patient man.he was also a deacon at Northshore Presbyterian church for several years he retired to his home in Center Tx in 1987
