Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Tresa

Tresa was born Tresa Pensato. She graduated high school and married Matthew Amato with whom she had 2 children. They divorced after 10 years of marriage after Matthew abandoned the family to marry someone else. Tresa fought hard to keep her family intact and like so many women of her generation and the social stigma of divorce found times rough and moved in with her parents in order to survive and make ends meet. Her indomitable will propelled her into the work force in her early 30's at the A&P grocery store on Cherry St. NE in Canton, Ohio. There she met Dan Rufo and married him in 1956 once her divorce became final the year before.

She was a very attractive woman with great style and class. She and her husband Dan started Stark Distributing (a beer and wine distributorship) in 1959. Together they acheived great success both socially and financially. She actually drove the beer delivery trucks in the early days of the business. She was not afraid of a challenge.

She was a great homemaker, cook, philanthropist, and friend. Not to mention a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply.
She was a world traveler - and avid supporter of St Jude's Children's hospital in Memphis TN.
