    Uriah Anderson Dukes died Friday afternoon, Feb. 04, aged 84 years. He resided with his daughter, Mrs. William Cook (Martha Jane Dukes) on West Main Street. The deceased has been a resident of this community since 1907, coming here from Ohio, where he was born. He was married to Katherine Kallahan of Barry County, who preceded him in death in 1880. Besides Mrs.Cook he is survived by the following children: George Dukes & Mrs. Charles Strauss (Emma Dukes) of Grand Ledge, MI; Rollo of Lansing, William of Barry County, Mrs. Delphine Heckerehorne of Riverdale, Wesley (James) Dukes of North Baltimore, Ohio and John, of Put-In-Bay, Ohio. There are 33 grandchildren. The Funeral was held Monday afternoon from the home with Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Dukes served his country during the Civil War, in Co. 1, 72nd Ohio Engineers. He has been affected with paralysis the past 2 years, rendering him partially demented and a great charge to his relatives here.
