1877 or 1879, January 24 born and baptized. priest and midwife.... House no. 45. Infant Frantisek, Catholic, male, legitimate. Father Vaclav Dvorak, Catholic, stone mason or stone cutter and cottager at Dudina 45, legitimate son of Jan Dvorak stone mason at Dudina 41 and Anna daughter of Josef Lapoticneho or Lapotecneho (neho is a variation ending. Look in the index of this parish for how the name should be. What looks like L here looks like Z in the 1880 bapt. record. Probably Zapotoc, hacek over the c.) farmer at Dudin 10. Mother Marie, Catholic, legitimate, daughter of deceased Vaclav Kamenik, quarter farmer (probably held 1/4 a lan) at Vetr. Jenikova 69 and Teresie daughter of Matej Vondrak at Mysletin 4. He obtained a bapt. cert. for going to America on 6 Sept. 1881. If the 9 in the date was 9ber or 9bris, it would be November, but this is just 9, so September. 1880, April 3rd born and 4th baptized. House 45. Infant Vaclav, Catholic, male, legitimate. Father Vaclav Dvorak, stone mason or stone cutter at Duden 45, legitimate son of Jan Dvorak stone mason or stone cutter at Dudin 41 and Anna daughter of Josef Zapotocniho farmer at Dudin 10. Mother Maria, Catholic, legitimate daughter of deceased Vaclav Kamenik quarter farmer at Vetr. Jenikova 69 and Teresie daughter of Matej Vondrak at Mysletin 4. He obtained a bapt. cert. for going to America on ? Sept. 1881? (ink was smeared). Since they were small children, their father probably got the certificates for them on the same day. If Frantisek was 4 when they emigrated, he must have remembered some of the experience.

Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Vaclav

Vaclav (Wencil) K. Dvorak, (my great grandfather), his son William
Vaclav (Wencil) K. Dvorak, (my great grandfather), his son William
Wencil K. DVORAK, my paternal great grandfather, his son (My grandfather) William Joseph DVORAK, and some other unknown men on a street with construction tools, pick axes, shovels, and the like. Dating the photo postcard was pretty simple. I found a guide online about figuring dates of picture postcards, and based on the markings of the area where you put the stamp on the back, this postcard is dated between 1904-1925. It's one of those old AZO photograph postcards. If anybody has these, I can help date them if you would like.

I'm trying to identify who the other men with my grandfather are. Grandfather, William Joseph Dvorak is the second man from the left...
Date & Place: at Muscoda in Muscoda Grant County, Wisconsin United States

The age of my grandpa in this photo is 18. So that makes the date of the photo 1911/1912....depending on what part of the year it is..Grandpa being born on Sept 28, 1893.
This might not be Muscoda after all. One said it could be Highland, Grant County, Wisconsin. I still don't know where it is. If anybody viewing this has any clue where it might be, please let me know. THANKS
