Velta Livens (then: Velti Lieven) was my father's girlfriend in Balduri/Bilderlingshof (Latvia) from autumn 1942 to early 1944. He was a German soldier in Russia at the time. They wanted to marry after the war. But my father was imprisoned in Russia from 1944 to 1948 and never heard from her again after the war. He kept her letters and photos for the rest of his life.
This love story always touched me. I only recently found out that she had travelled to the USA in 1952 and died in 2005. I would be delighted if I could get in touch with someone who still knew Velta. ([contact link])
