Verna Jo Condon, 83, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Bedford. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy Church. Verna Jo was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Ballinger to Verna and Walter Fenley Sr. She married Tom Condon on June 9, 1951, at Rosen Heights Presbyterian Church by the Rev. John F. Walvoord. Together they served in chaplain ministry for the U.S. Air Force for 24 years. She was a longtime member and was very active at St. Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maxine Maddux; and nephew, Dana Fenley. Survivors: Husband of almost 63 years, Tom Condon; son, Stephen Condon; daughter, Karen Layman and husband, Michael; grandson, Philip Layman; granddaughter, Sarah Kadavy and husband, Seth; brother, Walter Fenley Jr. and wife, Nell; niece, Diana Pendergraft and family; and nephew, Dave Fenley and family.
