He had one brother 2 years younger, Clarence V Warner, and one older adopted sister Mabel Warner. It was published in the Sandusky Register ( Sandusky, Ohio) on April 11, 1945 that he had obtained a marriage license with Ethel Ward. They had 3 daughters: Ruth Miller, Jean Kruegger, and Carol Mix and 4 sons: Vernon, Larry, Paul, and Greg Warner. He later went on to be a grandfather of 11 grandchildren. Vernette registered for both world wars, World War I and World War II.

    Published Friday November 8, 1974 in The News Messenger (Freemont, Ohio): Sandusky- Memorial Service for Vernette (Vern) Warner, 76, Richard Place Sarasota FL will be Saturday at 2:30 pm at St. John Lutheran Church, Route 99 and Strecker Road. The body will be cremated. Mr. Warner, former Sadusky resident and retired employee of the US Postal Service died Wednesday in Sandusky Memorial Hospital. Surviving are his three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Ruth) Miller, Sandusky, Mrs. William (Jean) Krueger, Bellevue, and Mrs. Carol Mic, Castalia; four sons, Vernon, St. Mary's; Larry, Paul, and Greg, all Bellevue, and 11 grandchildren.
