    Mr. Vernon Fields, 45, of 204 Victoria Avenue, Charlotte, died October 13, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center. Funeral will be held at 2 pm Saturday at Thomas Chapel Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Walter Adams officitating. The family will receive friends 1 - 2 pm Saturday Oct. 17, 1998, at the church. Born in Manhattan, NY, Mr. Fields was an electrician with Interstate Electric and a U.S, Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sharon Fields, sons, Mr. Cornelius Debrue and Mr. Verson Fields, and stepsons, Mr. Brandon Baxter and Mr. Curtis Baxter IV, all of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Mr. William Fields of Bronx, NY, and Mr. Reginald Fields of Washington, DC; sisters, Miss Diane Fields of Brooklyn, NY, Miss Arlene Fields and Miss Carolyn Fields, both of Bronx, NY, Miss Francene Fields and Miss Verdale Fields, both of Brooklyn, NY, and Mrs. Kay Phillips of Charlotte, NC; mother-in-laws, Mrs. Margie Massey; and Mr. Charles Massey and Mr. Thomas Lee Massey, all of Charlotte, NC; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Valerie Fields of Bronx, NY, and Mrs. Wilhemina Goode of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren; and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements are by Richmond Funeral Home, Charlotte. - The Charlotte Observer (Charlotte, North Carolina) Friday, October 16, 1998 on page 53.
