“Vicki Lester Barton King returned to her eternal home on September 26, 2018 at age 76 at home, in Denton (Denton county),Texas. She was born in Alice (Jim Wells), Texas on September 6, 1942, only child of William Lester and Edna Fern (Early) Barton. Transferred to Houston 1953, she graduated Bellaire High School 1960. Married 1962, had two children. Graduated Midwestern University, Wichita Falls TX, 1975 cum laude, Kappa Delta Pi, Pres.,honorary education fraternity, certified K-12. Taught school City View ISD, Wichita Falls ISD, then ran a Division on WF campus of Vernon College. Was a designer/salesperson for Ethan Allen, Corrigan’s, Ashley Furniture, and manager of Michaels Art dept. She was a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator, call sign K5VLK. Married 1985 to LCDR Elves Alexander (“Rex”) King III, USN (Ret). She served as Wichita County Citizens Emergency Readiness Training Coordinator. LCDR and Mrs. KIng ived in Wichita Falls, Texas over 50 years, then the couple retired and moved to Denton, Texas near family. Survivors are: grieving spouse, children Melanie Morgan Epp, Michael David Morgan/wife Lori; Laura Nichols, Jennifer Segreto/husband Mike, Shannon Perry/husband Mark, Sean King; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and cousins. Funeral mass to be held at Saint Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewisville Texas on October 13, 2018 at 10:00am. Suggest memorials to American Heart Assn. She was greatly loved.”
