  • Introduction

    Victor Howard Fink was the child of Mary L. Spence (1890-1970) and Charles Luther Fink (1887-1961). He was born in Toms Creek, Wise County, Virginia, United States of America on April 2, 1918 and was one of 18 children. Two of his brothers were James Henry Fink (1920-1980) and Richard Eugene Fink (1927-2002). They grew up in Lipps, Wise, Virginia, USA. On March 16, 1939 he married Vivian Witt (1923-1996) in Ben Hur, Virginia. Together they had children Howard E, Mary M, Helen L, Nellie M, Patricia A, and Mary E Fink and were living in Detroit, Michigan at the time. He later married Dorothy C. Crase in 1962 in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away in 1987. Mr. Fink had resided in the Harrison area since 1980, moving from Detroit. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Harrison and the VFW Post 1075 of Harrison. On October 19, 1993, Victor Howard Fink passed away in Mount Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan, United States of America.

At the time he stood at 5'10", 146 lbs, with sallow complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes. his next of kin was listed as his wife, Vivian Lee Fink. Victor later enlisted into the United States Army on June 13, 1944 and fought in World War II. In June of 1945, he was admitted to the Convalescent Hospital with a diagnosis of dermatophytosis on his lower body and a peptic ulcer. He was discharged on November 23, 1945.

    Victor H. Fink, age 75, of Harrison, passed away on October 19, 1993, at the Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. He was born on April 7, 1918, in Toms Creek, Virginia, the son of Charles Luther and Mary (Spence) Fink. He married Dorothy C. Crase in 1962 in Detroit; Mrs. Fink preceded him in death in 1987. Mr. Fink had resided in the Harrison area since 1980, moving from Detroit. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Harrison and the VFW Post 1075 of Harrison. Surviving are one son, Howard E. Fink of Ladson, SC; four daughters, Patricia Fink and Nellie Fink Barns, both of Tennessee, Mary Fink Daggart of Flint, and Deborah Mullins of Kentucky; one stepson, Randall Grubb; one brother, Richard E. Fink of Alabama; three sisters, Louise Pearcey of Arizona, Uva Marie Carter of St. Clair Shores, and Margaret England of Kentucky; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a sister and a brother. Funeral services were held on October 22 from the Community Baptist Church, Harrison, with Pastor Philip Hatfield officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Plains (Hayes Township) Cemetery, Harrison. Military honors were provided by the members of the VFW Post 1075, Harrison. .Arrangements were by Stocking Funeral Home of Harrison. Clare Sentinel, 10/26/1993
