Vira (Mcollum) Gately of North Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas was born on November 13, 1882 to John Cullllum and Rose. She was the parent of Mavis Gately. She was the parent of Roy Allen Lasiter. Vira Gately died at age 97 years old in July 1980, and was buried in July 1980.

Vira was 1st child of john cul lum and rose ? John cullum abandoned the family when she was 9 years old - she had a brother charley McCollum, sister Mamie , bro Robert McCollum . She was married to Mannie lasiter of lonoke county Arkansas who died age 22, from kidney blockage , their child was Roy Allen lasiter, she later remarried to Samuel gately who had a child already age 9 he was Sam gately junior , there was a 1/2 sister to Roy - Mavis - she was a firey spirit and developed dementia at around age seventy living her last years at golden years manor in Cabot she had 7 grandchildren from Roy Allen and 2 from Mavis
