  • Introduction

Known as Van, 2nd of 6 children, all boys, of Virgil Van Buren Cornelison(Sr.) aka "Lawyer" or "Law" & L. Lorene Cunningham Cornelison. Van was married only once, in Miami, FL (Army Base/Army Air Corps?) Chapel on 8 Dec.1942 to Miss Winifred Child Bell, known as Wini. She was born at home Scottsboro, AL 25 Feb 1921. Wini pre-deceased Van. Wini died Adams County, OH June 1989 & is buried Goosepond Cemetery, Scottsboro, AL in Cornelison family plot. Many of our relatives are buried there. I thought of Van, my Daddy as a "walking encyclopedia". Daddy, my brother Virgil (VVC 3rd), & I thought of Wini as our "walking dictionary". Who needed the internet when we had such fountains of knowledge in our home! Van was 6' tall, approx. 225lbs, lt. brown straight hair with blue-grren eyes & his complection was fair or a "summer", if you've ever had your colours done. He was outgoing, loved animals & plants & I can not put into words how much I miss him! Daddy & my brother, Virgil were my care givers when I was a baby & into later years, too. L.C.N.
