Virginia Sarpy (Berthold) Gundy was born in June 1878 in Missouri United States to John Sarpy Berthold and Anna Caroline (Barnard) Berthold. She married Samuel Frederick Gundy, and had children Bradley Berthold Gundy, Virginia Margaret (Gundy) Thomson, John Samuel Gundy, and Carolyn Gundy. Virginia Gundy died at age 78 years old on April 7, 1957.
