    Wadia was the oldest child of Mary and Karem Basil. they were from Baruit Syria...now Lebanon. they were married there before they came to Chicago USA. Karem sold linens. he had a shop in Chicago and in Elkhart Lake lndiana My dad, Peter J Basil was Wadia's baby brother. Wadia means Rose and that is my sister's middle name

I remember going to Wadia's shop on Michigan Avenue in Chicago with my Mom when I was a kid. It was a very interesting shop, and she had such a selection. My Mom bought several pieces of jewelery from her. My grandmother also shopped there. Wadia was a very nice lady!
