    Walter J Wladyslaw Migaz was born on July 11, 1919 in Wisconsin to parents Joseph Michael Migaz (1883-1924) and Julianna Wojciehawski (born 1885). He had siblings Jan (born 1907), Ignace (born 1915), and Regina Julianna Migaz (1915-1996). His mother remarried sometime before 1920 and his step father was Anton Tomczak. Walter lived with his mother, step father, and two biological siblings Regina and Walter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Walter enlisted into the US Military on January 6, 1942 in Fort Sheridan Illinois. He served in the US Army from April 9, 1942 until March 19, 1946. He was part of the "92Nd Ftr Sgd. 81St Ftr Gp".
