Walter James Torney was born in Hay NSW. He married my Grand Mother Geraldine Bamford (widow) in about 1953 in Melbourne. My mother was his step daughter. His children were Stanley, William (Bill), Barry, Walter, Norma, Ronald, Alice & Gordon. His first wife Daisy died in Balranald hospital I think around 1951 or 52. He worked as a sheerer but inn my memory worked for yhe local chemist Ivan Purton of Balranald as a maintenance/handy man well into his early 70's. He and my Grand Mother moved to Melbourne to live with us but he was such an argumentative & cranky person he created an impossible situation & moved to Ballarat Vic where he live until his death. I would be happy to correspond with any other info for you. Kevin Torney his grandson wash last known to be the owner of the Mobil service station in Balranald although I would expect will have retired by now
