Walter Paul Krzyzewski, Private C/79088 was killed in action on September 14, 1944 west of Rimini, Italy at age 21. Walter was born on April 28, 1923 in Ottawa, ON Canada. Son of Joseph Krzyzewski and of Frances (Coulis) of 24 Aldeline Street, Ottawa, Ont, Canada. He was a member of the Royal 22e Regiment of Quebec. He had also served in Sicily.

Member of the famous Royal 22nd Regiment of Quebec, Pte. Walter Krzyzewski 21 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Krzyzewski, 24 Aldeline Street, is reported killed in action in Italy on Sept. 14. A former Technical High School student known familiarly to many friends as “Sas”, Pte. Krzyzewski enlisted on May 2, 1942, with the Lanark and Renfrew Scottish and was later transferred to the “Van Doos”.
He arrived overseas in April 1943, and served in both Sicily and Italy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four brothers; Stanley, Joseph and Victor all of Ottawa, and John of Montreal, and one sister, Agnes of Ottawa.

Pte. Walter Krzyzewski, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Krzyzewski, 24 Aldeline Street, Ottawa, has been killed in action overseas, his parents have been informed.
Enlisting for active service with the Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment on May 3, 1942, he later transferred to the Royal 22nd Regiment of Quebec, and landed overseas in April 14, 1943. He served in Sicily and Italy.
Pte. Krzyzewski attended Ottawa Technical High School. He has four brothers; Stanley, Joseph and Victor of Ottawa, and John in Montreal, and a sister, Agnes at home.
