He was in a relationship with Lilly Sardinia Toney, and had children Warren Clay Buffaloe, Lenore Kathrene Buffaloe, Walter Burl Buffaloe, Benjamin Emmett Buffaloe, Anna Lee Buffaloe, and Murl Nolan Buffaloe. Walter Buffaloe died at age 87 years old circa January 2, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, OK, and was buried at Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, Garvin County.
