Warwick Sturzaker of Bright, Alpine Shire County, VIC Australia was born on September 10, 1881 in Collingwood, City of Yarra County to Thomas George Sturzaker and Sophia Gasting Ansell Sturzaker. He had siblings Mary Jane Sturzaker, Eva Sophia Sturzaker, Neville Sturzaker, Linda Mary Sturzaker, Amy Louisa Sturzaker, and Thomas Hector Sturzaker. He married Esther Adelaide (Mills) Sturzaker in 1905, and had children Neil Warwick Sturzaker, George Charles Sturzaker, and Milicent Adelaide Sturzaker. Warwick Sturzaker died at age 74 years old on January 29, 1956 in Bright, Alpine Shire County.

In 1881, in the year that Warwick Sturzaker was born, on April 28th, Billy the Kid escaped from the Lincoln County Jail in New Mexico. He killed James Bell and Robert Ollinger in the escape and then stole a horse and rode out of town. On July 14th, Pat Garrett shot and killed Billy the Kid in Billy's friend's home near Fort Sumner, New Mexico.

In 1903, when he was 22 years old, the silent film, The Great Train Robbery opened. Although it was filmed in Milltown, New Jersey, it was a Western. Twelve minutes long, the film used a lot of innovative techniques - some scenes were hand colored and composite editing, on-location shooting, and frequent camera movement were used. Its budget was $150 (about $4000 currently) and was the most popular film until 1915 when Birth of a Nation was released.
