He married Mathilda Viola Laura Vilneff on August 9, 1927 in Havelock, Peterborough County, Ontario, and they were married until Wesley's death on May 2, 1968. He had a child Carl Esley George Sheppard Vilneff. Wesley Vilneff was buried on May 4, 1968.

    Source: Marmora Herald on May 9, 1968. Funeral service for Wesley Shephard Vilneff, 63, who died suddenly at his home at 29 Main Street, Marmora, on Thursday, May 2nd, was held at St. Andrew's United Church on Saturday May 4th, with Rev. Douglas Miller officiating. Son of the late George Vilneff and the former Melinda Rupert, he was born in Rawdon Township and educated in Marmora Township. He lived in this area all his life, having spent some years farming in the township. He was later employed at Marmoraton Mining Co. Limited, but retired a few years ago due to ill health. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church and Nickle Lodge LOL 285. A service was held Fri. evening by the Lodge at the Howden Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, the former Tillie McFall, daughters: Mrs. Edward Bateman (Leona) Stirling; Mrs. Ed Shortt.(Helen) Rawdon Township; sons, Dalton, Marmora Township, Carl of Harold; Russell and Darrell at home. He also leaves sisters, Miss Hazel Vilneff of Ingersol; Mrs. Joe Lytle of Indian River. Mrs. William LeCIair of Toronto; Mrs. Sid Derry of Oshawa; Brothers: Gordon and Albert of Peterborough and George and Everett of Marmora; 21 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Interment was at Marmora Protestant Cemetery. Stirling; Mrs. Ed Shortt.(Helen) Rawdon Township; sons, Dalton, Marmora Township, Carl of Harold; Russell and Darrell at home. He also leaves sisters, Miss Hazel Vilneff of Ingersol; Mrs. Joe Lytle of Indian River. Mrs. William LeCIair of Toronto; Mrs. Sid Derry of Oshawa; Brothers: Gordon and Albert of Peterborough and George and Everett of Marmora; 21 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
