He had siblings Mary Violet Kathleen Newton, Hibbert Alan Stephen Newton, and Cecil John Stephen Newton. Wilberforce Newton married Margaret Windeyer Macansh in 1926, and died at age 64 years old on October 3, 1956 in Fitzroy, City of Yarra County.
