He had two sisters, Margretta May and Josephine L. Mesic and a brother, Carl S. Mesic. He had another sister, Edith, who died as an infant.     Private First Class Wilford C. Mesic, the son of Charles Mesic of Afton, was killed in action in France on October 1, 1944. He entered service December 4, 1942 , went overseas to Italy in July 1944, and later transferred to France. He attended school at Harpersville and Sidney, graduating from the Sidney Central school in 1941. He was born on July 7, 1922. Private Mesic was employed at the Scintilla plant in Sidney before his induction through the Walton board.
