William A. Ratcliff passed peacefully away at his home in Parrottsville Wednesday, February 5th at one o’clock in the morning. Deceased had been in poor health for several months, but his condition had showed some improvement for more than five weeks until Tuesday morning before his death he became suddenly ill... He professed faith in Christ at the age of 18 years, united with the Baptist Church of which he remained a faithful member... Funeral services were held at Forest Hill Thursday afternoon at two o’clock... Mr. Ratcliff was always interested in things that were for the upbuilding of the community in which he lived. Nothing made him happier than to help a neighbor or friend in need or time of trouble. He being of a quiet nature one might have found it difficult to understand him, but we who have known Mr. Ratcliff these many years can truly say that community has sustained a great loss. A strong Christian character, a true and tried friend has gone from our midst”.
