Julius LaFayette & "Mollie" Seitz family
This is a picture of my paternal great-grandparents, Julius LaFayette Seitz and Mary Isabel "Mollie" Walker Seitz. Mollie is holding my uncle, William Ernest Seitz. The little boy sitting on the arm of the chair in the sailor outfit is my grandfather, Robert Lee Seitz. The couple had 11 children and Julius LaFayette Seitz had 2 children with his first wife who died in childbirth. The family lived in Mobeetie, Wheeler County, Texas. Julius LaFayette was born in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died 19 Nov 1948 and is buried in the Mobeetie Cemetery at Mobeetie, Wheeler County, Texas. Mollie was born in Illinois Bend, Montague County, Texas. She died 6 Jan 1957 and is buried in the Mobeetie, Texas, cemetery. Mollie's parents were both dead by the time she was 11 years old. Her mother died when she was 9 years old and her father died 2 years later. She told her grandson, Elbert Lee Seitz, that she lived with people in Colorado after that and could remember hearing the cougars scream at night. My father, Elbert Lee Seitz, lived with them when he went to first grade because he lived out in the country and they lived in town.
