    Glenn Transcript of Willows, California. Thursday, December 28, 1939. "Funeral Service for Fruto Man Held Today. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Elk Creek Christian Church for William Elijah Shields, 54, a Fruto district resident, who dropped dead Monday afternoon at his home after a Christmas dinner. Shields was Foreman on one of Mrs. P.H. Green's ranches. Decedent is survived by his widow, Lela, and seven children: Louis and Shirley, Fruto; James Shields and Mrs. Raymond Conner, Willows; Mrs. Ernest E. Fix, Woodland; Mrs. Frank Terry, Maxwell;and Fred Shields, Willow-ranch"
