    William Frank Lawhern is the son of Roy/Ray Alfred Lawhern (1893-1962) and Ella Elevine Copus (1894-1968). He was born on February 17, 1929 in Overton County, Tennessee and had siblings Marion Elmore (1915-1998), Matilda (1917-1917), Robert (1919-1919), Veechel Esther (1921-2008), Robert (1923-1923), Velma Vera (1924-1927), and Charles Frederick Lawhern (1933-2015). Bill was married a few times in his life. He was first married to Glenna Belle Lackey and they had 2 children together, Barbara Ann and William Frank (Billy) Jr. He then married Magdalena Augstina Julia Toledo and they also had 2 children, Ruth and Roy. Lastly, Bill married Susie Jane Neal on Nov. 3, 1994 in Monroe, Tennessee. They were married until his death. William Lawhern then enlisted into the United States Air Force on December 29, 1950 and was a maintenance mechanic in the Air Force in 1955 during the Korean War. He was discharged on May 25, 1955.

They had 2 children, Barbara Ann and William Frank (Billy) Jr. He married Magdalena Augstina Julia Toledo on Oct. 3, 1972 in Las Vegas, Nevada and divorced Nov. 9, 1973 in Hidalgo, Texas. They had 2 children, Ruth and Roy. There is a story with their divorce of living help. He married Susie Jane Neal on Nov. 3, 1994 in Monroe, Tennessee.
