William Firdman Farley was born on January 6, 1878 in St. Francois County, Missouri United States to Marie Louise (Bequette) Farley and Henry Clay Farley, and had siblings Walter Lewis Farley, Laura (Farley) Boreman, Mattie L. (Farley) Griffard, Jasper H. Farley, Abbie Farley, and Mayme Mary (Farley) Wood. He was the father of Dewey Farley, Melvin H. Farley, and Roy F. Farley. William Farley died at age 41 years old on January 18, 1919.

    William Firdman Farley, a former resident of near Irondale and well known in St. Francois County died recently of influenza followed by pneumonia. He was born in St. Francois County, near Bonne Terre, January 6, 1878 and died December 1919. He was the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Farley of Ploria. He was married in 1898 to Miss Hattie Thomure in Desloge. To them were born three children, Melvin, aged 14, Roy, aged 10 and Dewey who died in infancy twenty years ago. He was a devoted husband and father and will be sadly missed by all who knew him as his nature was to cheer all in sorrow and distress. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Odd Fellows. Besides his wife and children he leaves an aged father and mother, three brothers and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. The brothers are, Walter L. and Jasper Farley of Ploria, Mo., and Luther B. Farley of St. Louis. The sisters are, Mrs. Abbie Garrett of Belgrade, Mo., Mrs. Mamie Ward of Herculaneum, Mo., and Mrs. Mattie Griffard of Normal, Ill. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
