    William Horace Huxhold is the child of William Franklin Huxhold (1872-1942) Diana Bertha (Dolly) Brown (1876-1958). He was born on January 11, 1911 in Greensboro, Indiana and had siblings Orville Monroe (1893-1975), Hoyt Augustus (1894-1973), Eva Charolette (1897-1983), Homer Russell (1899-1981), Edith Cleo (1901-1917), Lena Iotis "Linny" (1904-1990), Ruth Cornelia (1906-1993), Melvin Louis (1908-1979) and Bertha Louise Huxhold (1912-1994). He married Dorothy Gertrude Fasnacht (1914-1988) on March 25, 1933 in Delaware County, Indiana, USA. They had children William Howard (1936-1993) and David Frederick Huxhold (1941-2006). The newly started family was living in Selma, Delaware, Indiana, USA and William was working at the Art Engel Warner Gear Company when he registered for the WWII draft on October 16, 1940. He later enlisted on January 4, 1944 in Indianapolis Indiana, was a veteran of World War II and was discharged on October 2, 1944. On June 30, 1983, William Huxhold passed away in Urbana, Champaign, Illinois, USA and is buried at the Bement Cemetery in Bement, Piatt, Illinois, USA.

He was a veteran of World War II and was discharged on October 2, 1944.

In 1934, at the age of 24 years old, William was alive when on November 11th 1933, an extremely strong dust storm hit South Dakota, stripping topsoil. Other strong dust storms had occurred during 1933. Severe droughts continued to hit the Great Plains and the dust storms devastated agricultural production as well as people's' lives for several years. The Roosevelt administration and scientists eventually determined that farming practices had caused the conditions that led to the dust storms and the changes they implemented in farming stopped the Dust Bowl.
