William Harold Patitz was born to Herman Patitz (1898 - 1980) and Alice Hill (1902 - 1959). Both parents were born in Wisconsin. He had four siblings: one sister and three brothers. William Patitz married Olga Josephine Catherine Rech (1919 - 1995) and they had sons Daniel H., Dale J., and Dennis J. A veteran of World War II, William F. Patitz served in the United States Army from 1942 through 1945.
