He enlisted on January 12, 1942, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and his military serial number was 13047790. On October 27, 1952 Will married Betty Louise Meintel (1921–2014). The couple had two children together: William James Sosyer Jr (1956-2017) and Valeria Soyster (1959-2016).
