William was named after his paternal grandfather, William John Gemeny Sr (1868-1920) of Cook County, Illinois. William was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas and had siblings Don and Sue Gemeny. He served in the United States Army as part of the 32nd Artillery Division and worked in construction for approximately 45 years. When he retired, he was working for Silver Creek Construction. He married Vicki Elaine Blevins (1950-2011) on March 14, 1970 in Tarrant County, Texas, USA and they had children Christopher and Erin Gemeny. The couple divorced on February 11, 1993 in Tarrant, Texas, USA.

    William J. Gemeny, 65, a retired construction worker, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at his home.Graveside service: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Alpine Funeral Home. Mr. Gemeny was born and grew up in Fort Worth. He served in the United States Army as part of the 32nd Artillery Division. He worked construction for approximately 45 years and retired from Silver Creek Construction. Survivors: His son, Christopher Gemeny of Arlington; daughter, Erin Duke of Murphy; brother, Don Gemeny of Haltom City; and sister, Sue McFadden. Published in Star-Telegram on January 25, 2010
