William Joseph Fitzpatrick 1876 - 1946

William Joseph Fitzpatrick was born on April 10, 1876 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan United States to Martin Fitzpatrick and Bridget Hogan Fitzpatrick. William was baptized at Saint Andrews School in Grand Rapids. He was in a relationship with Rose Bertha Meta Lemke, and had children Howard Joseph Fitzpatrick, Catherine Maudabelle Fitzpatrick, Thomas Martin Fitzpatrick, Ora Helen Fitzpatrick Alvehire Rush, Viola Fitzpatrick, Rosetta Fitzpatrick, Julia Fitzpatrick, and William Fitzpatrick Jr.. William Fitzpatrick died at age 70 years old on July 27, 1946 in Grand Rapids, and was buried at Garfield Park Cemetery in Grand Rapids.

In 1881, when he was merely 5 years old, on October 26th, the "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" happened in Tombstone, Arizona. The gunfight lasted only 30 seconds - the Earps and Doc Holliday on one side and the "Cowboys" on the other side. The McLaury brothers and Billy Clanton of the Cowboys were killed. Two of the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday were wounded.
