    The following obituary appeared in The Kansas City Star (Kansas City Missouri) on Thursday, July 6, 2000, on Page 15: WILLIAM L. SCHUMACHER William Ludlow Schumacher, 76, of Hershey, PA, died June 25, 2000 in Boone Memorial Hospital, Columbis MO, returning homr from his 60th Southwest High School reunion. Services were held July 1, at the Derry Presbyterian Church, Hershey PA. Bill was born July 9, 1923 in Kansas City, MO, a son of Ramon and Ina L. Schumacher. He was the widower of Kingsley Hargest Schumacher. Surviving are his wife, June Wilkinson Schumaker; two daughters, Patty L. Schumacher of Telford, PA, and Susan S. Weidner of Mechanicsburg, PA; a son, William L. Jr. of Lancaster, PA; two stepdaughters, Anne Dorrance and Lou Porter, both of Hershey; two brothers, Ramon Jr. of Prairie Village and David G. of Washington MO; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Bill retired as a fiber optics division manager from AMP Inc., where he held 35 patents; was a graduate of the University of Missouri; a Navy veteran of World War II; and a member of Derry Presbyterian Church and F7AM Lodge 666, both of Hershey. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children, c/o Zembo Temple, Harrisburg, PA.
