He married Esther "Bessie" Andrew Vines in 1901, and had children Esther Mary Vines, Elizabeth Winifred Vines, Cyril Andrew Vines, and William Arthur Vines. William Vines died at age 83 years old on December 19, 1950 in Parkville.
