William John Neely was born to John W. Neely (born 1880) and Martha J. Cummings (born 1879). His mother was born in Canada, his father was born in Massachusetts. He had siblings Elizabeth M., Edith L., Lebarn W., Marion Ann, and George R. Neely. William Neely married Gwendolyn Anna Croy (1903 - 1991) on February 20, 1932 in Peterborough, New Hampshire. They had two children, a son and a daughter, Joan and David.

Funeral services at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, Wednesday, June 9, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
