William RAVEN our Great,Great,Great Grandfather was born on 14th February 1809 in ENGLAND . In 1834, he married Honorah BESTON born 15th Feb. 1809 in Norfolk County England . Their union produced six children.
As at July 2014 I don't know what ship they arrived on their journey to AUSTRALIA, but they sailed with their two small children , 1st born James Robert RAVEN born 1833 Essex England & 2nd born Elizabeth RAVEN born 4th September 1835 in England. William and Honorah with their two small children settled in South Australia AUSTRALIA..
With South Australia only proclaimed in 1836 , William and Honorah settled here by 1836. 1841 was the year of their 1st child born in South Australia AUSTRALIA.They had six children in all, with four born in South Australia , They were the first RAVENS to settle in South Australia as per South Australian Passenger Lists, Early 19th Century shipping arrivals and Immigration by Barry Leadbeater with listed reference sources.
William died on the 14th Dec 1888 at 75 years of age and Honorah ( nee BESTON ) died on 16th January 1872 at 63 years of age, both buried at the West Terrace Cemetery Catholic Section Adelaide South Australia AUSTRALIA.. The 1st of the next five children born in South Australia were (3.)Mary Ann RAVEN born 20th October in Adelaide South Australia then (4.) Robert RAVEN born May 1844 but died early at only 6 months old. Next was ( 5.) Francis RAVEN ( our great Grandfather ) born 16th March 1848 in Adelaide, then lastly (6.) Ellen RAVEN born 20th June 1850 also Adelaide South Australia. Their union produced six children.

He married Mary Ann Rosina HODGES, daughter vof Wliiliam HODGES and Catherine TYNAN on 8th March 1864 in Adelaide South Australia ,AUSTRALIA. Mary was born on 18th May 1846 in Adelaide ,South Australia,AUSTRALIA. She died on 14th December in Thebarton, South Australia, AUSTRALIA.Their union produced seven children.
2.Elizabeth RAVEN was born 4th September 1835 in ENGLAND.She died 24th July 1908 in Goodwood Park, South Australia , AUSTRALIA. She married Robert WEST on 13th April 1853 in Adelaide , South Australia, AUSTRALIA. Robert was born on 2nd December in Attadare, ENGLAND. He died on 27th August 1874 in Edwardstown, South Australia,AUSTRALIA.
