William Rodger Bain of Sunshine Australia was born in 1878 in Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh County, Scotland United Kingdom to Jessie Bain Bain. He married Daisy (Forden) Bain. He would also marry Caroline Smith Bain, and they had children Grace Rodger Murray (Bain) Mooney, George Bain, and William"Bill"Bain. William Bain died at age 73 years old in 1951 at Forrest street in Sunshine, VIC Australia, and was buried at Footscray Cemetery in Yarraville.

    Sunshine Advocate 1933. Mr. and Mrs. Bain Entertain. In honor of their recent marriage Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Bain, of Forrest street, Sunshine, entertained 150 guests, many of whom had come long distances, on Saturday evening last, January 21, at the Masonic hall. Receiving were Mr. and Mrs. Bain, Mrs. Forden (mother of the hostess), Greenwood Avenue, Ringwood, and Mrs. Mooney of Ivanhoe.

    Sunshine Advocate, 14 September 1951. WILLIAM RODGER BAIN. The death occured last Sunday at his residence, 32 Forrest St, Sunshine of Mr. William Rodger Bain, at the age of 73 years. The late Mr. Bain was well known in Sunshine, having arrived here from Edinburgh, Scotland, 38 years ago. He served in the cavalry during the Boer War and was a past master and the treasurer of Sunshine Masonic Lodge. The late Mr. Bain, who was employed at H.V. McKay's for many years, leaves a family of two son's and one daughter ( Mrs. Mooney ). BAIN.-On the 9th Sept. at his home, 32 Forrest st, Sunshine, William Rodger, dearly loved father of Grace (Mrs Mooney) father- in-law of Irving and grandfather of Colin and Myrtle.
