William Pantages Born in Andros
William, my father, was born in Andros, Greece, strode on a ship heading to New York in the hope of finding his father Stamatios, who was an electrical engineer traveling to many countries. William arrived without money and did not know English. It has been told tome he found his father shortly there after Stamatios was killed in a train accident in Binghamton NY. William then travel to California met up with his cousins Alexander, served in the Army then when to New York where he became a successful Bar owner married Stamatia Gontzes had 5 children one died at birth, he went on to live to the age of 92
