I enjoyed making him laugh, and wish I could have been there with him to make him laugh till he cried into eternity as he always said you for when that day came. He would jokingly say: "when they looked at me and see that great big smile on my face, they'd ask: "Wonder why this man is smiling like that, and then he'd say: (while laughing out loud, "Girllll.. they just don't know.. they just don't have a clue." Willie Lee Curtiss, 50, of Marina passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at home. He was born on April 6, 1957 in Sumter, SC He retired from the U.S. Army serving 20 years. He served in the Vietnam War and Kuwait War. Willie received many medals, badges and ribbon awards, such as the Bronze Star Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medal, Retired Lapel Button, six Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Developement Ribbon with Numeral 3 Army Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Aircraft Crew Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Overseas Service Ribbon. Willie was a program coordinator/instructor at Central Coast College. SURVIVORS: mother, Mary McKelvey of Bronx, NY; step-father, George McKelvey of Bronx, NY; brothers, Larry Curtiss, Michael McKelvey, Keith McKelvey all of Bronx, NY and George L. McKelvey of Charleston, SC; sister, Angelita McKelvey of New York, NY; daughter, Michlene (Sammy) Curtiss Davis of Worcester, MA and granddaughter, Salise A.M. Davis. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Struve and Laporte Funeral home 41 West San Luis Street, Salinas, CA 93901
