Wilmer Knipe had siblings Robert Knipe, Betty Lou Knipe-Gallagher, Gayle Knipe, and David Knipe. He married Anne Neveux. He would also marry Meredith Gail Hansen, and they had children Kimberly Christian Knipe and Robert Gary Knipe. Wilmer Knipe died at age 70 years old on June 16, 2006 in Richmond, VA, and was buried on June 23, 2006.
