    Wilson Joseph Lacobie was born on March 19, 1918 in Sulphur, Louisiana, USA to parents Lee Lacobie (1884-1947) and Angel Lacobie (1889-1980). He had siblings including Taviette, Wallace, and Eunice Lacobie. They grew up in Port Arthur, Jefferson, Texas. He was a graduate of the United States Maritime Service Officers School at Fort Trumbull in New London, Connecticut and went on to serve as an Ensign in the U.S. Merchant Marines in both the Atlantic and the Pacific during World War II. On November 29, 1937 he married Hilda Blanche Boudreaux (1920–1990) in Jefferson, Texas, USA. Together the couple had sons Leonard LaCobie (1938-2013) and Carl Gene LaCobie (1943-). The family resided in Port Arthur, Texas, USA. After Hilda's passing, Wilson re married on January 18, 1992 in Jefferson, Texas, USA to Ethel Louviere Lacobie (1926–2006). They resided in Groves, Texas, USA.

    GROVES - Wilson Joseph Lacobie, 90, of Groves passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at DuBuis Hospital in Port Arthur. Wilson was born in Sulphur, Louisiana, on March 19, 1918, to Lee Lacobie and Angel Bergeron Lacobie. He moved to Port Neches, Texas, in 1921; moved to Port Arthur in 1925 and has resided in Groves since 1953. A graduate of the United States Maritime Service Officers School at Fort Trumbull in New London, Connecticut, he proudly served as an Ensign in the U.S. Merchant Marines in both the Atlantic and the Pacific during World War II. Wilson retired from Jefferson-Texaco Chemical in 1980 after 34 years of service. Wilson is survived by his sons, Carl Lacobie and his wife Eleanor of Leesburg, Florida and Leonard Lacobie and his wife, Elaine of Anderson, South Carolina; step-son, Carl East and wife Betty of LaBelle; grandsons, Daniel Lacobie of Anderson, South Carolina, Tracy Lacobie of Greenville, South Carolina and David Lacobie of Carney's Point, New Jersey; one great grandson, Dalton Lacobie of Anderson South Carolina. Wilson was preceded in death by his first wife Hilda Boudreaux Lacobie; second wife, Ethel East Lacobie; parents; sisters, Annie Mae Jennings, Eunice Romero, Mildred Nunez, Octavia Deville and Mary Louise Mattick; brothers, Lawless Lacobie and Stephen Lacobie. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
