Terry Jenkins was born in Wisconsin and grew up in the Lake District in the Northwest of England after his father was assigned there to supervise an American-owned evaporated milk factory. Terry is best known for his important discovery of how the vitamin-B6 coenzyme (pyridoxal phosphate) functions in a class of enzymes called transaminases. Terry Jenkins devoted himself unstintingly to his profession and the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University. He was a knowledgeable colleague, a wise counselor and a willing helper. We thank him for all that he has given to the Department of Chemistry and to Indiana University. Cathrine E.
