Yannick left home at age 15 to live in Paris. He eventually became a trichologist working for Rene Furterer in Paris. He told me that he lived and worked in Megève, Iran and New York. IN New York, he became known as an expert colorist, and worked for Pierre Michel salon on 57th Street and branched out to work on many independent clients between 1979 and 1990 in New York City.

I did not know when Yannick passed away, but met him in 1979. He was a dynamic, free-spirited maverick sort of guy, but gentle and devoted to his friends. He LOVED music and dancing, fashion and style, food and life! In fact, he was the first person I knew to get the latest music devices to play and record music. His love of life and incredible eye for innovative design for everything - food, fashion, flowers, home - fueled his passion for life in the US. He loved it here, but also loved to travel - even flew on the Concorde a few times! But his one tattoo said everything about him. It was a little devil with a halo and I think a heart and written below J'Ose. This translates to "I DARE" and THAT was how he lived and loved - with such aplomb and daring! He dared to take on the world, embracing people and culture and business and everything with a sense of I Can Make It Work that infused everything he touched. I've never seen a harder worker or anyone with the sense to make something amazing out of a humble start, and anyone who knew him knew that he was so down-to-earth and such a sweetheart... unless you made him mad! HA! Well, take it from me, someone who loved him and was deeply loved by him, he changed every life he touched, and nobody ever forgot that little devil! Je t'aime, Yannick!
