    Yvonne (Badeaux) Koch was born to Rene Badeaux (1892 - 1976) and Emilie Bernadette Abadie (1893 - 1969. She had a sister, Vernalee Baeaux (1926 - 2001), and a brother, Wallace Badeaux. She was awarded the Sue Hefley Educator’s Award by the Louisiana Library Association in 1991. She was also a member and past president of Louisiana Association of School Librarians, Kappa Kappa Iota Educational Sorority Xi Conclave and Alpha Omega Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society. Also, Yvonne was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany and was a volunteer with the HOSTS Program at North Lewis Elementary School from its beginning (1997 to present). She married Noel Robert Koch Sr. and they had three children, a daughter and two sons. Yvonne was survived by six granddaughters and four grandsons.

    Services for Mrs. Noel Robert Koch Sr., the former Yvonne Badeaux, 78, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany with the Rev. Mark McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed today from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of service at David Funeral Home. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Koch died at 3:08 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at Dauterive Hospital. After 37 1/2 years in the educational system, Mrs. Koch retired in 1993. She is survived by her daughter, Rene Koch Theall; two sons, Robbie Koch and wife JoAnn, and Stephen Koch and wife Janet; six granddaughters, Dawn Koch all of New Iberia, Stacy Koch Boatwright of Broussard, Sammone Koch, Keisha Rene Oubre, Emily Ann Arceneaux and Kelly Noel Koch all of New Iberia; four grandsons, Robert Rene Koch of Maurice, Brennan Paul Oubre of Corpus Christi, Texas, Stephen Matthew Koch and Lucas Koch both of New Iberia; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Koch was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Robert Koch Sr.; parents, Rene and Emily Abadie Badeaux; a sister, Vernalee Whipp; and a brother, Wallace Badeaux. Pallbearers will be Robert Rene Koch, Brennan Paul Oubre, Grant Boatwright, Edwin Whipp, Roy Whipp, Matthew Koch, Kenny Hebert and Bill Wallace Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Wallace Sr. and Willis Estis Jr. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Koch’s name to Iberia Parish School Libraries and/or Episcopal Church of the Epiphany Endowment Fund. - David Funeral Home - North, Trotter Street, is in charge of the arrangements.
